Looking for a recipe with just a handful of simple ingredients? Look no further! This pasta is delicious, filling, and cheap to make!
INGREDIENTS
-1 serving whole grain farfalle pasta
-1 link chicken sausage (I used a provolone and sun dried tomato flavored sausage, but use whatever fun flavor you like!)
-1/2 head broccoli
-1 tablespoon balsamic
-Crushed red pepper
-Parmesan
DIRECTIONS
1. Begin by bring a pot of salted water to a boil. Heat a very small amount of olive oil in a medium sized skillet over medium heat.
2. Slice the sausage link into rounds and cut the 1/2 head of broccoli into florets.
3. Add the sausage to the skillet and brown about 4-5 minutes per side until deep brown and caramelized.
4. Boil the pasta until al dente. About 2 minutes before the pasta is finished, add the broccoli to the boiling water with the pasta. When finished, use a slotted spoon to transfer the pasta and broccoli to the skillet with the sausage.
5. Add to the skillet: a drizzle of olive oil, balsamic, crushed red pepper, salt, and pepper. Plate and top with Parmesan cheese!
