Craving pizza? Well surprise surprise, you can have this pizza AND still be in compliance with the Mediterranean diet. Not to mention, this is also one of the easiest recipes around.
INGREDIENTS
-1 whole grain flatbread (such as naan)
-*1/4 cup homemade or store-bought pizza sauce
-1/3 cup low fat shredded mozzarella
-***~8 turkey pepperonis
-Parmesan
-Garlic powder
-Crushed red pepper
-Chopped fresh basil
DIRECTIONS
1. Preheat oven to 400 degrees and line a baking sheet pan with foil.
2. Add the flatbread to the baking sheet. Top with pizza sauce and shredded mozzarella. Then sprinkle with Parmesan, salt, pepper, and garlic powder. Top with the turkey pepperonis.
3. Bake for about 10 minutes.
4. Transfer cooked pizza to a cutting board, cut with pizza cutter, and sprinkle with crushed red pepper and chopped fresh basil.
***MM Option: To make this meal meatless, simply leave off the turkey pepperonis. Instead, you can top the pizza with whatever vegetables you like!

*Easy Homemade Pizza Sauce Recipe:
-3-4 cloves grated garlic
-3 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
-1 tablespoon Italian seasoning
-28oz can tomato sauce
Begin by heating the extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium heat. Once hot, add the garlic and Italian herbs and cook about a minute. Then add the crushed tomatoes. Season to taste with salt and pepper. Cook about 40-45 minutes until olive oil is fully incorporated into the tomato sauce.
